One-page uploader, file queue, and a redesigned upload experience

New

  • One-page uploader layout – a new single-screen layout where your custom form and the upload widget sit together with the submit button right below. Toggle between the classic multi-page wizard and the new one-page uploader with a single click in your uploader settings.
  • File Queue (one-page uploader) – on the one-page layout, selected files now stay listed in a queue on the same page, so visitors can review file names, check sizes, remove accidental files, or add more before hitting Send.
  • Ready-made Light & Dark themes – switch the uploader between a crisp Light look and a bold Dark look in one click, with no color picker needed.
  • Live preview for custom design – a new Preview button opens your uploader in a new tab that refreshes instantly as you adjust colors, buttons, and fonts, so you see exactly what visitors will see before you save.

Improvements

  • Redesigned uploader look – the upload widget now has a sleeker, cleaner, more modern default appearance across both the multi-page and one-page layouts.

May 2026

Configurable Name & Email fields and notification variables

New

  • Name and Email are now first-class form-builder fields – instead of the "ask for name & email" checkbox, they can be edited as regular field cards.
  • New "Email" field type in the form builder, which can be used as a notification recipient.
  • Configurable notification recipient – the visitor notification card gained a "Recipient email" dropdown, so the recipient's email is read from a specific configured field.
  • Variable picker ("Add variable") in the subfolders name & notification editors – a toolbar button opens a searchable, categorized popover for inserting variables.
  • Document AI and Custom Form variables – both can now be inserted into the notification subject and message editor.
  • Working "Reply-To" on notification emails – owners can now reply directly to the uploader from the notification email.

Fixes

  • Fixed the broken %types% placeholder in the fr, sk, and es translations.

Advanced Document AI Lab & Google Sheets recovery

New

  • Document AI Lab – test your AI columns on a real sample file directly from the Create/Edit uploader page, without saving the uploader or sending a real submission.
  • Automatic Google Sheet for Document AI – turning on Document AI with at least one column auto-prepares a dedicated Sheet whose columns mirror the AI fields in real time.
  • Broken spreadsheet detection & recovery – DriveUploader now spots when a linked Google Sheet is trashed, deleted, or inaccessible and notifies the owner by email, a red "!" badge on the uploader list, a popup on the uploader detail page, and a warning banner on the Sheet tab.
  • Configurable notification recipient – the visitor notification card gained a "Recipient email" dropdown, so the recipient's email is read from a specific configured field.
  • Redesigned default owner notification email – clearer structure with Upload summary, file list, form details, and AI insights, applied to the default template only.

Improvements

  • Default email templates are now pre-filled – new uploaders show the actual default Owner/Submitter subject and body instead of an empty field, so it's clear what recipients will receive.
  • Trashed sheets keep recording uploads (~30-day grace window), while deleted/inaccessible sheets stop sheet writes but still upload files to Drive normally.

Fixes

  • Free uploads show the real expiration date instead of the hardcoded "Active until January 25th, 2024" placeholder.
